Hsien-Lung Yang began his professional journey in Taiwan, where he spent his early years before moving to the United States in 1999 to pursue higher education. This transition marked the start of an international career shaped by exposure to new perspectives in technology, engineering, and innovation. After completing his master’s degree, he joined Applied Materials as a product development engineer, laying the foundation for his long association with semiconductor manufacturing.

Over the next twelve years, he steadily advanced within the organization, taking on roles such as key account technologist and later business manager. These experiences allowed him to work closely with customers while gaining a deep understanding of both the technical and commercial aspects of the semiconductor industry. They also helped him develop a practical approach to problem-solving and strengthened his ability to connect engineering innovation with real business needs.

In 2014, Hsien-Lung Yang returned to Taiwan to expand his hands-on experience in manufacturing and joined Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company as a technical manager. Over the following decade, he held several leadership roles across the semiconductor sector, including division head at Wavetek Microelectronics Corporation, senior manager at Yangtze Memory Technologies, director of process and application engineering at Woniks IPS, and senior manager responsible for key product units and key account technology at Advanced Semiconductor Materials. Each role deepened his expertise in large-scale production, customer collaboration, and advanced process engineering, with a strong focus on creating manufacturing systems that balanced reliability with scalability.

In 2023, he returned to the United States and soon rejoined Applied Materials as Director of Process Engineering, leading development efforts in physical vapor deposition technologies. Since 2025, he has served as Head of Technology Development, guiding major innovation initiatives shaped by years of learning, persistence, and leadership experience. Among his most meaningful achievements is contributing to hundreds of chip manufacturing processes, many of which support devices used worldwide since the launch of the iPhone 7 in 2016, highlighting the tangible impact of his work on millions of everyday users and the broader semiconductor industry.
