DJI has introduced its latest innovation in aerial photography with the launch of the DJI Mavic 4 Pro—a drone designed to elevate content creation through a groundbreaking triple-camera setup and 360-degree gimbal technology. Building on its legacy as the first drone maker to deploy a triple-camera system, DJI’s new offering is anchored by a collaboration with Hasselblad and is geared toward professional-grade storytelling and cinematic aerial work.
The drone features three distinct focal lengths—28 mm, 70 mm, and 168 mm—mounted on a state-of-the-art Infinity Gimbal, which allows full 360-degree rotation and a tilt range of 70 degrees up or down. This level of mobility is designed to unlock “unprecedented angles” for creators. At the heart of the DJI Mavic 4 Pro is a 100-megapixel Four Thirds Hasselblad camera, equipped with an f/2.0–f/11 adjustable aperture and Natural Color Solution technology for superior low-light performance and color accuracy.
Accompanying the primary camera are two powerful telephoto units. The first is a medium-range 48-MP camera with a 70-mm focal length and a newly developed processing engine that enhances image sharpness and delivers compressed perspectives ideal for highlighting key subjects. The second is a long-range 50-MP telephoto camera with a wide F2.8 aperture, capable of capturing highly detailed cityscapes and expansive panoramas.
Pro-Level Video Features and Flight Efficiency
All three cameras are capable of recording 4K video at 60 fps, complete with 10-bit D-Log, D-Log M, and HLG color profiles. The main Hasselblad unit takes this further with 6K video at 60 fps HDR and 16 stops of dynamic range, while also offering 4K slow-motion capture at 120 fps. The medium telephoto matches this slow-motion capability, while the long telephoto can record at 100 fps in 4K.
The DJI Mavic 4 Pro is designed with high-speed maneuverability and safety in mind. Six fish-eye sensors and advanced dual-processing help it avoid obstacles at speeds up to 18 m/s (40 mph), though it can reach a top speed of 90 km/h (56 mph). A robust 95-Wh battery offers up to 51 minutes of flight time, translating to an estimated flight range of 41 km (25.4 miles) under optimal conditions.
Control is managed via DJI’s O4+ transmission system, which can deliver 10-bit HDR video from up to 30 km (18.6 miles) away. The drone also comes with up to 512 GB of internal storage, providing ample room for high-resolution footage and reducing the risk of data loss during long-distance flights.
Global Launch Excludes U.S. Market—for Now
Despite the excitement surrounding its release, DJI has announced that the DJI Mavic 4 Pro will not be available for sale in the U.S. at launch. The global release date is set for May 13, but the company cited changing local conditions and evolving industry regulations as reasons for the limited market rollout. DJI has not confirmed when—or if—the DJI Mavic 4 Pro will be introduced to the U.S., though it emphasized its commitment to exploring future solutions.
European pricing has been confirmed, starting at £1,879 (approximately US$2,485) for the basic package with a 64-GB module, one battery, and RC 2 controller. The Fly More combo includes two batteries and a charging hub for £2,459 (~US$3,250), while the Creator Combo—offering 512 GB of storage, a premium RC 2 Pro controller, and enhanced charging options—sells for £3,209 (about US$4,245).
