Cakes Concealed Carry Founder Travels to Dhaka to Oversee 2026 Production and Strengthen Leatherina Manufacturing Partnership

ST PETERSBURG, FL— Tamkin Amin Collins, Founder and CEO of Cakes Concealed Carry, recently completed a hands-on visit to Dhaka, Bangladesh, where she met directly with her manufacturing team to oversee 2026 production standards, review quality control protocols, and strengthen the brand’s overseas supply chain.

The trip marks one of several direct manufacturer engagements Collins has undertaken since the brand’s founding in 2024. As a brand built on precision, quality, and accountability, Cakes Concealed Carry has maintained that executive-level oversight of production is non-negotiable.

“I don’t outsource my quality standards to a middleman,” said Collins. “I fly across the planet, I sit with the team, I touch the product with my own hands, and I make sure what leaves that factory is something I’d carry a gun in myself. That’s the standard.”

During the visit, Collins reviewed hardware specifications, material sourcing, stitching quality, and sample approval workflows for the brand’s core lineup, which includes the Madeline, Millie, Chiffon, and Tuxedo styles. The trip also included documentation of the manufacturing process for the brand’s forthcoming documentary, The Cakes Effect, currently in production with a planned 2028 release.

Cakes Concealed Carry manufactures its naturally milled full-grain leather handbags in partnership with a Dhaka-based leather goods manufacturer, and fulfills orders domestically. The brand’s patent pending magnetic pull-tab rapid access system, is the defining functional feature across all bag styles.

The trip also took Collins to Chittagong, where she toured an LWG Gold-certified tannery that supplies the brand’s leather, tanned using natural methods without harmful chemicals.

Just as meaningful to Collins was what she learned about where the leather begins. According to the tanneries she visited, the hides are sourced not from industrial factory farms but from cattle raised in homes and villages across Bangladesh, where the animals are cared for as members of the family and owners often grieve at the time of a sale.

“The smell in that tannery made me want to vomit, but I stayed with it. I watched as the remaining flesh was trimmed from each hide, then dried, dyed, and split. This is the truth behind every bag we make. An animal gave its life for these leather bags. Turning away would have been easy. Sitting with it was the only honest thing to do. I needed to respect the source, and I needed to do that as the founder,” said Collins. “These hides were once village cattle, raised with love and one day slaughtered for their beef, just like the ones I played with as a child here. Knowing that the cows roamed Bengali villages, and knowing the tanning process is done naturally without poisoning the land, is something I can’t compromise on.”

For Collins, the trip was really a homecoming. Born in Bangladesh, she immigrated to the USA more than three decades ago and returned this year to a place she had long left.

“Coming back after so many years reminded me how different Bangladesh is from America. Women there are still fighting hard for equality and the culture is improving but still very patriarchal. This intention to reclaim power as a woman is exactly why I built Cakes,” said Collins. “I was able to immerse myself in the country where I was born, and it filled me with gratitude for the freedoms American women like me are blessed with. My roots may be in Bangladesh, but my mission is here at home: to arm and empower women, and to protect the Second Amendment that makes all of this possible.”
