Southern Gaza Hit Hard with Multiple Casualties
Overnight Israeli airstrikes across Gaza left at least 40 Palestinians dead, as reported by emergency and civil defense officials in the region. The strikes, which targeted residential areas, caused widespread destruction and claimed multiple lives, including women and children.
In southern Gaza, one of the most devastating attacks took place in the Bani Suhaila neighborhood of Khan Younis, where an Israeli airstrike hit a residential building, killing at least 10 people. Officials from Nasser Hospital confirmed that several others were still trapped under the rubble. Family members of the deceased were seen mourning as rescue efforts continued. Another tragic incident occurred in the town of Al-Fokhari, where a house was struck, killing five people, including a woman and two children. The victims were taken to Gaza European Hospital by emergency teams from the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) and hospital officials.
Central Gaza Struggles Amid Continued Strikes
Central Gaza also faced significant Israeli airstrikes, particularly in and around the Al-Nuseirat refugee camp. Eight people were killed in this region as the bombardments continued throughout the night. One of the most deadly strikes occurred near the Nawri residential tower, where six people were killed when a house was destroyed by Israeli missiles. The Gaza Civil Defense teams worked to retrieve the bodies and sent them to Al-Awda Hospital.
Another airstrike in central Gaza targeted a home near the Radi petrol station, killing two people. PRCS paramedics were quick to respond and transported the bodies to nearby medical facilities. Central Gaza, already grappling with a humanitarian crisis, continues to bear the brunt of the ongoing conflict, with civilian casualties mounting as air and artillery attacks persist.
Northern Gaza Faces Heavy Shelling and High Death Toll
The northern parts of Gaza also witnessed severe bombardment overnight, with 17 people reported killed in various strikes on Gaza City and its surrounding areas. A strike near the Salah Eddine Mosque in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood southeast of Gaza City resulted in three deaths, while two more people were killed near a mosque in Tal Al-Hawa to the southwest, according to civil defense officials. Rescue teams are still working to locate additional victims trapped under the debris in these heavily shelled neighborhoods.
In another strike on northern Gaza, 12 bodies were recovered from the Al-Fallujah area, west of the Jabalya refugee camp, following Israeli airstrikes and artillery attacks. These victims were taken to Kamal Adwan Hospital, and first responders continued their efforts to find survivors amid the ruins of demolished buildings. The ongoing Israeli airstrikes have intensified the already dire situation in Gaza, as emergency services struggle to cope with the rising number of casualties.
The recent strikes mark a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict, with civilian casualties continuing to rise as Israeli airstrikes hit residential areas throughout Gaza.
