Most launch dates come from a venue that happened to be free and an executive calendar that did not.
By the time it is fixed, nobody has asked what the show will actually be. Screen content is built to the native resolution of the screen it will play on, meaning the exact pixel count across and down. Build to those numbers, and the picture sits correctly on the screen. Build to something else, and it gets stretched or resampled, which costs quality on the one night it has to look expensive.
That resolution comes from the rental company or the manufacturer, not from the creative team. So the screen has to be specified and signed off before anyone starts building the thing that plays on it.
Arrangement matters as much as size. A single wall, three panels with gaps between them, and a curved surface each need the content laid out differently, because the design has to know where the joins are.
