Datiphy Inc.- Know Your Data

Ted Ho CEO Datiphy Inc.

Corporate databases are typically protected by a firewall, behind many layers of business applications – not much thought is given to their potential risk for compromises. These databases contain highly valuable data making them the logical target for malicious attacks.

Datiphy’s DatiDNA mapping of all database transactions can help bring these data breach events to light immediately.

In this interview with The Enterprise World, Mr. Ted Ho, CEO of Datiphy Inc. talks to us about the inception of the company and its how it is helping the organizations with its services.

Tell us about Datiphy.

Founded in 2015 in San Jose, CA, Datiphy delivers solutions to protect crucial business data and provide data intelligence on operations wherever data is stored whether it is on-premises, in private or public clouds. The key technology is our Adaptive Data Behavioral Model™ (also called DatiDNA™) which provides risk assessments by analyzing database transactions in real-time. Our highly scalable solution consists of Host and Network Agents that deliver in-depth activity monitoring of databases. Our enterprise-level platform uses behavioral analytics, and data-centric auditing and protection capabilities to mitigate risk.

What were the initial challenges you faced?

Datiphy’s cloud solutions provide an extra edge for companies as we remedy the issues with time and geographical boundaries to reach worldwide customers. The fact that Datiphy can provide critical information about an organization’s data activity in the cloud is the unique selling point that sets us apart from the competition. Datiphy will continue to introduce various capabilities to visualize an organizations’ entire enterprise data lifecycle in the future as well.

DNA in life science can identify susceptibility to sickness, disposition to illness, and even life span. Similarly, Datiphy developed our Data DNA model which contains fundamental building blocks to correlate sensitive database activities and determine the health and risk of a business. Datiphy identifies the genetic marker of sensitive data, maps it to the baseline of assets, events, and policies, and is able to discern negative behaviors allowing for risk alert and reporting.

Datiphy solutions provide evidence, context, and the mechanism by which malicious individuals gain access to your sensitive data.

Datiphy solutions provide evidence, context, and the mechanism by which malicious individuals gain access to your sensitive data. By piecing together a timeline of events, a threat intelligence model can be created to track user data accessing behavior. Based on the Data DNA models and analysis, Datiphy Enterprise can report data exfiltration, signal the violation, trigger alerts, identify the source, and inform your SIEM tools for actions.
